It is very important that you have the right slimming down strategies in place to help you lose weight faster than before and to keep it off
Strategy number 1 – Don’t go shopping hungry
How does it work:
Going shopping hungry is a recipe for disaster. It is sure to have you reaching for the first thing that you see to still your hunger. It also weakens your natural defense system that you will find resisting cheat and junk foods more difficult.
How to apply it:
Try to always have something to eat before you go shopping. You can also try to do your shopping on times when you have already eaten a lot or you can schedule your shopping trips at times that you won’t be hungry.
Strategy number 2 – Plan your meals
How does it work:
If you plan your meals for the month before hand, you won’t be guessing what to eat any longer. It will help you to stick to your diet and also to avoid reaching for the take-aways.
How to apply it:
What I do is, at the beginning of the month, I plan the month’s meals. I make a meal planning sheet with all the days of the month in and I write my planned meals down in the right slots.
Strategy number 3 – Eat 100% healthy
How does it work:
If you try to stick mostly with healthy foods, you will save out on a lot of empty calories and fat. Healthy foods are lower in fat and higher in good quality nutrients that will ensure that your metabolism functions well. It also keeps fuller for longer and gives long lasting energy.
How to apply it:
Make sure that your diet consists of mainly healthy foods and that your meals are balanced and complete.
Here are the healthy food groups that you should stick to:
- Lean protein, like fish and chicken
- Healthy carbs like whole-grain/wheat products
- Healthy fats like avos and nuts
- Fruits and veggies
Strategy number 4 – Diet proof your on the go/eat out meals
How does it work:
If you diet proof your meals when you eat out or when you are on the run, you don’t have to worry about ruining your diet.
This is because by choosing the diet friendly option, you won’t harm your slimming.
How to apply it:
Have a look at the menu and try to choose the healthier version. Also ask for the salad dressing and all other sauces on the side.
You can also download the restaurant’s menu and pick your chooses before hand.
Strategy number 5 – Eat small, healthy meals regularly
How does it work:
Eating smaller meals more often is an excellent way of keeping fuller for longer, boosting your metabolisms and helping you to have less cravings. You will also be so full from eating all the time that you will snack less often on unhealthy things.
How to apply it:
Switch over to 6 small, healthy meals from 3 square meals. Make sure to have small meals and 3 snacks in between.
